Job Description
Job Title: Registered Manager Ofsted - Children's Residential Home
Location: Waltham Abbey - EN9
Salary: up to £50,000 per annum + Bonus Scheme
Our client is seeking a dedicated childcare professional - either an experienced Deputy Manager looking to advance their career or a Registered Manager - to lead their 3-bed residential home in Waltham Abbey. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive organisation and make a significant impact on the lives of children and young people experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties.
About the Role:
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and a nurturing environment for young people aged 11-18. You will lead and mentor a dedicated team, ensuring their professional development and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of home operations, including staff management, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for each young person.
- Build strong relationships with young people, their families, and other professionals.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.
- Lead and mentor a team of dedicated Residential Childcare Workers.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including Ofsted regulations.
- Participate in on-call rota as required.
- Drive continuous improvement in the quality of care provided.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a senior/team leader position within a residential childcare setting.
- Hold a QCF Level 5 Leadership and Management Diploma or be actively working towards completion.
- Hold a minimum Level 3 or 4 in Residential Child Care (Children and Young People's Workforce) or equivalent.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience of managing an Ofsted-registered children's home.
- Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage challenging situations.
