Job Description

Our global IT client has an opportunity for a DevOps Engineer with Device Lab Oversight

From being able to log you in with face recognition, correct your gaze during a video chat to maintain eye contact, to the exciting new opportunities emerging from computers' understanding of natural language, are you itching to play a part in bringing AI applications to millions?

Our client is working on several exciting projects that will shape how computers and other devices perceive the user and the user's environment. Operating as a startup within the company, the team works closely with several research and product teams to bring compelling new experiences to the market. A lot of these experiences will rely on cutting edge hardware - and as part of this team, you will have the unique opportunity to work with a wide range of high-end consumer devices.

You will manage the growing pool of test devices and collaborate closely with the wider team on regular release testing and comprehensive root cause analysis on different architectures, and to ensure device health of the CI agent pool. We expect you to be a hands-on technology enthusiast who can work independently and pro-actively address issues before they become problems. You will collaborate on CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance for a variety of hardware devices.

Requirements:

  • Good experience with managing Windows systems, flashing BIOS, using bootloaders etc.
  • Working experience and knowledge of at least one scripting language, e.g. bash, PowerShell, Python.
  • Self-driven problem solver working onsite at our Reading offices.
  • Desirable: Experience with git, continuous integration and other collaboration tools.
  • Experience with test tools, e.g. Selenium, is a plus.

This is a PAYE role to start ASAP until June 2025, with a potential extension through to a maximum 18 months and is paying up to £300 per day (depending on experience).

This is a fully onsite role based at our client's offices in Reading.

You will benefit from paid annual leave, paid sick, paid bank holidays, pension & notice period.

If you want to be part of a company who pride themselves on empowering and inspiring excellence, operating as a Diverse, Equal and Inclusive employer, apply today!

Please consider applying ASAP as we will be shortlisting applications as we receive them
