Admin Officer MOJ - Bradford IAC (SB- IAC) Bradford, England

The Ministry of Justice - Admin Officer
Location: Bradford Phoenix House (office working)
Hours: Monday - Friday (37 hours) Office opening hours are 07:30am to 18:30pm (flexible start/end times to accommodate hearings)
Pay: £12.53ph

This is an ongoing temporary position with the possibility of a further extension at the discretion of the business requirements.

Role Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a full time Administration Officer to join the Team at the Bradford Phoenix house court with our client, The Ministry of Justice based in Bradford. The role will include working as part of a flexible team where the main focus will be cases relating to immigration. This is a very interesting role, carrying out effective and efficient administration and customer care support to the courts. You would need to provide administration support ensuring staff & service users are supported through efficient processes.

The ideal candidate will need to be comfortable using the Microsoft suite and IT, especially laptops, audio and video equipment. Be able to organise their day in line with Judicial requirements and able to deal with Appellants, Legal Representatives and other Tribunal users in person, e-mail/post/video and Audio calling in a professional manner at all times. The roles will include clerking more than 1 hearing simultaneously, using the CVP platform, and ensuring administrative support to the hearings. The hearings can start at 9:00am and may finish after 5:00pm so a flexible approach would be needed.

Responsibilities include:

Working as an admin officer for the Immigration department there are different range of duties required to carry out on a daily basis.

Clerking - is dealing with court users face to face and through various digital platforms (conducting remote hearings)

Liaising with the Judiciary face to face and remotely

Having adequate written and verbal communication skills

Confidence to speak to court users and Judges professionally

Data entry on using internal platforms and Microsoft package

Multi-tasking on general admin duties while conducting clerking role

Preparing for court hearings

General admin duties - include managing several email in-boxes and dealing with queries from Court Users and Judges

Proof-reading Judges decisions and issuing it to parties via email/Post

Progressing appeals from when it has been received until heard and decided at the Tribunal

Listing appeals for hearing and sending notices out to parties

Answering telephone calls as and when received and dealing with any queries from National Business Centre
