Warehouse Operative

Job Description

My client based in Bradford are currently looking for a Warehouse and Site Operative to join their team on a temporary 2-3 basis with the possibility for extension.

Monday to Friday (25 hours per week)- All candidates must be flexible on working hours between 0800-1700
£11.44 per hour- Paid weekly

Job Summary:
They are looking to hire a Warehouse and Site Operative through our agency to support the Warehouse team with essential goods in/goods out services. The role will involve managing stock, supporting dispatch activities, ensuring warehouse organisation, and assisting with the preparation of non-standard stock items.
Key Responsibilities:

Goods In/Goods Out Service:

  • Safely receive deliveries into the warehouse, transferring goods from pallets to shelves.
  • Verify stock location codes and ensure proper storage of items in their designated locations.
  • Perform regular stock checks and replenishment activities, optimising warehouse space.
  • Liaise with couriers on-site for deliveries and pickups to ensure smooth processes.
  • Update the Stock Management System to reflect the movement of orders through various dispatch stages.
  • Ensure that items are dispatched to the correct customer addresses within deadlines.
  • Follow the company's Health & Safety Guidelines and manual handling procedures, reporting any concerns as they arise.
  • Non-Standard Stock Preparation:
  • Assist with the physical preparation of non-standard stock items before they are dispatched to customers.
  • General Warehouse Duties:
  • Maintain a clean and organised warehouse, disposing of pallets and materials properly to avoid health and safety hazards.
  • Perform general duties to ensure a safe and tidy working environment inside and outside the building (e.g., litter removal, moving office equipment, basic maintenance, gritting, snow clearance).
  • Report incidents or suspected breaches of processes to the Administration and Procurement Manager.
  • Carry out all duties in compliance with the company's systems and procedures. About You:
  • Strong customer service skills, with a focus on putting the customer at the heart of everything we do.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Physically able to perform manual tasks, including heavy lifting and carrying.
  • A friendly and polite demeanour.
  • Previous warehouse experience and stock replenishment skills are desirable.
  • Experience with stock management systems and pallet jacks is advantageous but not essential.
