Ward Manager - Preston, UK

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Ward Manager to lead the nursing and support team and ensure the highest standards of clinical care are maintained.

The role:

  • Lead and manage the nursing and support team, ensuring effective delivery of patient care within a 14 bedded inpatient rehabilitation service
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the ward, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organisational policies.
  • Provide mentorship and support to nursing staff, promoting professional development.
  • Manage ward budgets and resources efficiently.
  • Engage with patients and their families, addressing concerns and providing support.
  • Permanent, full time Monday to Friday 9am-5pm

Ideal candidate:

  • Registered Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC pin.
  • Experience of managing services within similar settings
  • Significant experience in a clinical nursing role, with prior leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong operational resilience and ability to manage challenging situations effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in nursing clinical skills and patient assessment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and improvement.
