Volunteer Co-ordinator
Role Overview
As part of the Event Team, you will help recruit and manage volunteers for high-profile events, provide administrative support, and assist with event planning and logistics. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who enjoys building relationships, inspiring others, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Recruitment & Coordination:
- Advertise and promote volunteer opportunities across various platforms.
- Communicate regularly with volunteers to build relationships and address queries.
- Ensure volunteers feel supported, valued, and appreciated.
- Reconnect with organisations that have provided volunteers in the past and seek new partnerships.
- Assist with volunteer enrolment and ensure all documentation is completed on time.
- Prepare and pack materials for events and assist with volunteer registration and deployment.
Event Support:
- Help organise logistics for major events and smaller activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate stock records and ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard.
Administration & Communication:
- Keep records and event documents up to date.
- Act as a point of contact for volunteers, supporters, and organisations.
- Provide excellent written and verbal communication.
Meeting Targets:
- Work with the team to meet event goals and ensure volunteers and participants have a positive experience.
Terms and Conditions
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with flexible start and finish times. Evening and weekend work will be required, with time off in lieu provided.
Pay Rate: £27k
Events: You'll need to work at key events, including weekends, and participate in 2-3 additional events annually. Time off in lieu is provided.
Person Specification
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong administration and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Confident using the phone and communicating with people at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Friendly, approachable, and a team player.
Desirable:
- Experience working with or as a volunteer.
- Background in events or the charity sector.
- Interest in health, fitness, or community initiatives.
