Job Description
Brook Street Recruitment is working on behalf of our client in Derry /Londonderry to recruit a full time and permanent Shift Performance Manager
As a Shift Performance Manager, you will manage the smooth running of the production process, ensuring that all products are produced to the specified specifications with Health & Safety as your first priority. You will be involved with the planning, coordination and control of all manufacturing processes for your dedicated shift. You will ensure goods and services are produced efficiently and that the correct amount is produced at the right cost and level of quality.
Duties:
* Ensure that safe working practices are adhered to at all times, including wearing PPE as appropriate. Acquire knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, work instructions, and associated documentation. Comply with all Health & Safety Policies and instructions and actively contribute to Company efforts to promote safe behaviour and safe systems of work.
* Development programmes, Disciplinary & Grievance, Absence management, investigations, performance appraisals, succession planning, supervising and motivating and creating positive partnerships.
* Ensure all team members are managed in accordance with the company's policies and procedures. Plan, schedule and direct the work efforts of the team.
* Responsible for the leadership and mentoring of the team, which includes performance feedback and identifying and fulfilling training requirements of team members.
* Execute the shift training plan to improve performance / flexibility and organise any additional training through gap analysis that may be required.
* Team Communications/meetings, provide constructive feedback, visual management, regular performance presentations.
* Maintain visibility on the production floor, driving the performance of your team and support functions to deliver the plan. Manage teams through a recognised appraisal system to develop and drive performance by providing quality feedback.
* Build and maintain positive/professional working relationships with internal and external customer base to maximizeefficiency's and resolve discrepancies.
* Actively engage with the shift team to solve business problems, drawing on the expertise and talent on the shift.
* Participate and lead key business VCI projects.
* Provide updates and identify trends on projects, tasks, and progress.
* Monitor and oversee the production processes and adjust schedules as needed
* Proactively support / contribute to the Site Quality Agenda.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of three year's supervisory / management experience in a regulated Manufacturing environment.
- WCOM / lean six-sigma knowledge.
- Able to communicate and motivate coherently to achieve targets.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Flexibility regarding working on a shift pattern - 12/7 shift pattern - 7 x 12hr shifts over 2 weeks
- Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
Desirable Criteria:
- Degree educated, preferably in a Manufacturing related discipline or equivalent.
- NE-BOSH or equivalent.
- SAP knowledge / experience.
