Job Description
I have an opportunity for a Senior Tax Associate to join a dynamic Accountancy PracticeinBromsgrove who serve clients in the media and sports sector. The candidate will collaborate closely with senior leadership and engage with exciting clients. Essential qualifications include strong organisational skills and a robust work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Management: Oversee an assigned portfolio, ensuring compliance with UK tax obligations, explaining reporting requirements, and notifying clients of deadlines.
- Client Correspondence: Address client inquiries and gather necessary information for annual filings, coordinating with internal teams (Accounts, Business Management & Payroll).
- Tax Return Preparation: Prepare complex UK tax returns, ensuring accurate information capture, analysis, and communication of tax implications to senior management or clients.
- Advisory Support: Review and draft initial tax advisory work for individuals while assisting management with complex advisory tasks.
- Team Oversight: Supervise and delegate tasks to junior staff, reviewing their work and managing deadlines.
- Workload Management: Effectively manage personal workload and prioritise tasks.
- Training Participation: Engage in internal Tax Technical training sessions.
Attributes, Requirements, Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a personal tax role, particularly with Owner Managed Businesses. ATT and CTA qualifications are preferred or candidates must be willing to pursue these with on-the-job training provided.
- Technical Acumen: Ability to understand technical concepts and a strong interest in researching legislation for client responses.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address client issues effectively, escalating when necessary.
- Productivity Under Pressure: Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Organisational Skills: Highly organised and responsive to clients, willing to work extra hours when needed to meet deadlines.
- Interpersonal Skills: Self-assured, personable, proactive; capable of building strong relationships with clients and team members.
- Attention to Detail: Commitment to high-quality work standards.
- Adaptability: Flexible and able to thrive in an autonomous working environment; ambitious and eager to demonstrate capabilities.
