About the Role:
As a Purchasing Assistant, you will manage the inward supply of a portfolio of production commodities and non-production goods and services. Your responsibilities will include preparing and negotiating contracts, supporting the business plan implementation, and acting as the Purchasing team member for a specific sector of the business.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Support Manufacturing Requirements: Interpret production plans and forecasts to meet business manufacturing needs.
- Develop Source Plans: Create strategies for specific areas of spend, aligned with the overall Purchasing strategy and business plans. Lead cross-functional teams in developing these plans.
- Sector Responsibility: Act as the Purchasing team representative for a business sector, participating in new product development, product launches, and other relevant activities. Share information with the team and manage their input.
- Budget Preparation: Forecast future prices based on market analysis, agree budgets with the Purchasing Manager, and monitor price performance versus budget.
- Reporting: Report price performance and relevant market issues to interested departments and company Directors through the Purchasing Report.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead projects resulting from Supply Agreements to enhance our processes and performance.
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience: Minimum of 1 years in a purchasing role within a manufacturing environment
Skills: Demonstrable experience with modern purchasing techniques and ERP environments. Proven materials and services purchasing experience.
