Job Description
Our Public Sector client based in Birmingham City Centre is currently looking for a Personal Assistant Support member to provide 1-1 assistance to a member of staff. You will be required to work Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm assisting a current staff member.
This will be a 6-month temporary assignment, pending on-going review, paying £11.88 per hour. The role will primarily be based onsite but may offer some hybrid working in line with the services guidelines & the specific staff member's needs.
This role would be to assist an individual with a neurodivergent condition as well as a visual impairment need in a professional "Learning and Development" (L&D) role.
The ideal candidate will provide tailored 1-1 support to help the individual navigate the workplace, enhance his direct job & performance, achieve professional growth and offer this by offering practical assistance and support utilising their own strong IT skills to ensure he can effectively contribute to his personal objectives and the Talent, Learning and Development (T,L&D) team objectives.
Aside from the stated disability the candidate has zero requirement for personal care or toileting and is independent.

The offer of 1-1 Personal Assistant support will consist of the following :-
- Guidance when navigating unfamiliar environments.
- Assisting in dynamic social environments, such as meetings, conferences, and other events (e.g., identifying colleagues in the room, reading, and communicating body language etc.) if on site.
- Attendance of both face to face and virtual meetings as appropriate (with occasional travel to Nottingham and other MoJ offices).
Task management support:
- Scheduling and booking rooms for meetings and events.
- General management of calendars, schedules and action logs.
- Provide admin support to help prioritise their tasks, manage their time, and meet deadlines within their L&D role.
- Attend and provide support in meetings as required, taking and distributing notes and ensuring action lists and reminders are accurate and up to date.
Technical support:
- Aiding the editing of audio-visual media.
- Converting inaccessible documentation into accessible formats.
- Supporting and directing a screen reader user in the interpretation and use of inaccessible media, software, and digital platforms
Essential and Desirable Criteria
o Proficiency and knowledgeable in IT -Use of Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
o Confident in verbal and written communication skills, with good data entry skills ensuring
accuracy and strong attention to detail.
o Well-developed prioritisation, time management and organisational skills, being able to work on own initiative.
o Ability to work effectively as part of a team, understanding commitment to equality of opportunity
o Problem solving skills
This role requires the holder to complete a DBS check and three years referencing.
