Job Description
Brook Street are working with a well established accountancy firm, based in Newport, who are looking for a Payroll Officer to join the team. This is a brand new role due to increased workload. This role is Monday - Friday, 8:30PM - 4:30PM, all on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Payroll Manager in managing a diverse client payroll portfolio.
- Complete weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly, and monthly payrolls for clients with employee counts ranging from 1 to 150 using Sage Payroll.
- Process BACS payments using third-party payment mandates.
- Ensure timely submission of all HMRC returns and compliance with regulations.
- Upload pension data to relevant pension providers accurately.
- Prepare and complete year-end submissions.
- Address and resolve client payroll queries promptly.
- Provide holiday cover and support for the Payroll Manager as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in payroll within an accountancy practice.
- Proficient in Sage Payroll software.
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and HMRC regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving.
