Our client HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is an agency of the Ministry of Justice. HMCTS provides administrative support for the legal system across England and Wales, ensuring justice works for everyone.

Court Usher - Part Time

Location: Norwich Magistrates' Court - Fully On-Site
Salary: £11.44 per hour
Working Hours: Part-Time: 14.8 hours per week, over two days (either Wednesday & Friday or Thursday & Friday)

If you're seeking an engaging opportunity to gain experience working within the Public Sector, we have a part-time opportunity for you! Our client, located at Norwich Magistrates' Court, is looking for a Court Usher to join their team on a Temporary basis. In this role, you will play a vital part within HMCTS, serving as the primary point of contact for all court users involved in hearings. You will also support the administrative staff and help ensure the smooth flow of court proceedings.

This role involves direct interaction with members of the public, some of whom may be experiencing anxiety or distress during their court visits. While this is a temporary position, there is a strong likelihood of an extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strong customer focus and service skills.
  • Proficient in IT and Microsoft Software packages.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to react quickly and professionally when needed.
  • Comfortable handling sensitive situations and supporting individuals who may be vulnerable or under stress.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Administration.
  • Exceptional communication and listening skills.
  • The ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
