Job Description
Stockport - £28,000 - Monday - Friday
Our client are looking for a Logistics Co-Ordinator to lead a team, working alongside branch managers and being responsible for site supervisors at their branch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning logistics movements of fleet vehicles across our regional network
- Ensuring the inter-branch logistics service level agreement is maintained
- Delivering hands-on training of our logistics team to improve their quality of work and liaising with the Quality Manager to report on progress
- Ensuring Safety, Health and Environmental standards are met at the Stockport branch and that each Site Supervisor at remote sites is trained accordingly to deliver the same standard locally
- Manage the inventory of valeting and maintenance materials across our network
- Manage the inventory of vehicle paperwork (including AdBlue Cards and Status Cards) across the network.
- Site maintenance - liaises with Site Custodian (if appointed) to organise performing small repairs.
(Preference) Demonstrates an in-depth product knowledge of:
- Passenger Vehicles: Hatchbacks / Estates / Saloons / MPVs / Minibuses / 4x4
- Commercial Vehicles: Vans / Tippers / Dropsides / Lutons / 7.5T
- Payload of various commercial vehicles
- Tail Lift / Tipper / Dropside operation
- GDPR - and how it applies to vehicles (removing all personal data from the vehicles)
- AdBlue
- Campervans
- County FW&T standard for Daily Rental
- BVRLA FW&T standard for Contract Hire
- BVRLA Code of Conduct
- HR Best Practice (to a supervisor level)
Demonstrates Leadership in the following areas:
- Ensuring the smooth operation/organisation of logistics across our network including by tasking subordinates appropriately
- Promotes attention to detail and an eye for damage
- Delivers high-quality, in-depth training on aspects of driving/valeting
- Documents training and progression frequently and in a timely manner
- Drives a pro-active approach to vehicle preparation
- Leads work-trials and provides good feedback on prospective logistics applicants to recruiting managers.
- Undertakes driving assessments for prospective employees and new starters and provides feedback on these to managers.
Person specification
- Relishes the need to dynamically change plans to suit rapidly changing requirements
- Works to high standards of detail, presentation, and communication
- Driving licence must be clear of any DR and IN endorsements
- Organised
- An enthusiastic leader of people
- Communicates effectively with colleagues across the business
- Clear, concise written skills - paper and computer
- Able to use a computer (MS Office etc) proficiently.
