Job Description
Brook Street are working with a well-established and respected law firm, known for our commitment to providing high-quality legal services to our clients. Due to ongoing growth, they are looking for a professional, organized, and dedicated Legal Secretary to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their legal career in a supportive and dynamic environmentof the office.
As a Legal Secretary, you will provide essential administrative and secretarial support to our legal team. Your role will involve handling a variety of legal documents, managing client communications, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation be the first point of contact for clients and play an important role in the efficient running of the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to solicitors and legal teams.
- Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, including letters, contracts, and court filings.
- Manage and organize legal files, ensuring accurate filing and retrieval of documents.
- Handle incoming calls and client inquiries, providing excellent customer service.
- Schedule meetings, appointments, and court appearances.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to legal and ethical standards.
- Prepare and send client bills, maintaining accurate records of work performed.
- Assist with the preparation of trial bundles and other legal documents.
- Coordinate with external parties such as clients, courts, and other legal professionals.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, or in a similar legal administrative role, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
- Excellent typing and document production skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- A proactive, adaptable, and professional attitude.
