Homeless Outreach Worker
Location: Buxton, covering High Peak, and Leek (Staffordshire & Moorlands)
Hours: 22.5 hours - 37.5 hours per week, three 6am starts for outreach
Contract: Temporary
Length of Contract: 6 weeks
Hourly Pay: £12.31
Essential - you will not be considered for this position should you not hold a UK Driving Licence

Nature Of Temporary Work
Brook Street Social Care will, at all times during your employment, use reasonable endeavours to allocate you to suitable assignments. Your hours of work may vary from one assignment to another, and you will be advised of the expected hours for each assignment. There may also be occasions when no work is available.

I am looking for a Homeless Outreach Worker who has a background in supporting adults who are homeless and living on the streets, or at risk of becoming homeless, and I want to hear from YOU today!

I am working with a fantastic client who specialise in delivering homes, services, and innovation for some of the most disadvantaged communities across the country. They aim to provide the very best service, and they would love your help in continuing that process.

Overview of the Role
I am looking for a part-time Homeless Outreach Worker, to support service users that are out on the streets, sofa surfing, or rough sleeping. You will work with those vulnerable people who may have; recently moved into permanent accommodation, may be in temporary accommodation, or could still be sleeping rough. You will provide intensive, wrap around support to address their accommodation needs as well as any other areas due to their complex, entrenched nature. You will build trust and support service users to navigate them through pathways and progress towards a life away from the streets and homelessness. You will be a great communicator, building strong relationships with external agencies in order to reduce the number of people returning to the streets and supporting them to access relevant services to address their needs. Delivering person centred support to service users, enabling them to secure suitable accommodation and to meet their immediate needs, enabling them to live a more sustainable and fulfilling life.

1st Stage - Shortlisting & Pre-Screening

In this stage I will personally review your CV, and then invite you for a telephone conversation, where will discuss your right to work, work history, suitability for the role, and any questions you may have.

2nd Stage - Compliance
In this stage, our compliance team will reach out to you to ensure the necessary checks are made, to ensure you are safe and ready to start. This will include a DBS and reference check, and proof of right to work. Your start date and employment will depend on those listed.

3rd Stage - Formal Interview
In some cases, hiring managers will still want to conduct a formal interview, to see if you would fit into their team, and for you to see if you would want to work in theirs.

4th Stage - Starting
Should you be successful in your interview, or able to start one without an interview, you will be your assignment details, including location, date, time, pay, and duties & responsibilities. The following day, your consultant will reach out to you to discuss how your first shift went, and if you would like to continue.
