The Ministry of Justice - Higher Executive Officer Procurement
Location: Wellington Place
Salary: £13.Per hour rising to £17.00per hour
Hours: Monday - Friday (37 hours)

About the Client: The Ministry of Justice is a major government department, at the heart of the justice system. We work to protect and advance the principles of justice. Our vision is to deliver a world-class justice system that works for everyone in society. MOJ is a ministerial department, supported by 35 agencies and public bodies.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Sourcing - Project (end-to-end activity) (1;1s, 3;1, supporting with variations if required).
  • Maintaining other Sourcing - Project activities, e.g., responding to queries, reporting on specific themes, and obtaining supplier feedback.
  • First point of contact (for assigned Sourcing - Project).
  • First point of supplier contact (for assigned Sourcing - Project).
  • Escalation as and when needed to Band B.
  • Support to Band B where required (cover at meetings, etc).
  • Checking PO values and requisitions for Band B to approve.
  • Band D responsibility where applicable.
  • Escalation on all above to Band B where required.

Experience

  • Procurement experience. (Sourcing and requisitions).
  • Ability to work collaboratively to drive decisions and deliver timely outcomes.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple competing tasks to meet business objectives in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A team player who leads by example
  • Ability to bring new ideas to drive continuous improvement

Desirable:

  • Knowledge or experience of Dynamic Purchasing Systems
  • Knowledge or experience of Grants
  • Understanding of Prison Education in England and Wales.
  • CIPS Qualification (or desire to work towards one)
