Working closely with the senior leadership team and the Chief Financial Officer's Private Secretary, the successful candidates will take a key role in the development of the directorates Business Support function, providing a professional administrative service and strategic time management to two Deputy Directors. The Temporary Worker will provide middle management support and operate with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgement in completing assignments. Examples of work performed will include but not be restricted to:

Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively planning meetings and manage the diary in line with departmental priorities, ensuring agendas, relevant information and documents are prepared and carrying out ad-hoc tasks as directed by principles.?
- Working with CFO Private Secretary, members of the Business Support team, senior leadership team to ensure effective use of your principal's time.?
- Using judgement to prioritise important meetings, suggest appropriate delegation when needed and clear communication.?
- Leading on key administrative tasks for the Chief Financial officer's private office, for example maintaining the directorate organogram and travel arrangements, assisting with Awaydays.

Skills & Experience
- Candidate will be proactive, motivated and eager to learn with a can-do approach to problem solving.??
- Previous experience of working in a personal assistance to senior executives and engaging with all levels of staff across the department.
- Good written and verbal communication, with the ability to communicate concisely and coherently to a variety of audiences.?
- Excellent organisation skills, capable of effectively prioritising work and delivering consistently under time pressure.?
- A strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt these skills to deliver at pace in a complex working environment.?
- Proficient in the use of IT systems in particular Outlook and Excel.

WORKING HOURS

Monday - Friday (9-5pm - 37hrs a week). The job will largely be based at home with one day a week in the Westminster office (near Trafalgar Square). The individuals will also need to travel to Birmingham office from time to time - very infrequent (usually for awaydays)
