Executive Officer (Temp)
Contract: 6 months (with possible extension)
Salary: £14.44 per hour
Location: Westminster, London

This is a temporary contract role for an Executive Officer role with an immediate start date (SC Clearance dependant) for a six-month duration (with possible extension), delivering within a central London location (Westminster). This role would be working full time in the office.

Job Description:
This is a brilliant opportunity to work on behalf of our government client. We are seeking an Executive Assistant to join FDCO and play a key role supporting the Director and three Deputy Directors. In this highly visible role you will be at the centre of the Directorate and the work will be varied, requiring an ability to navigate tactfully between immediate demands and long-term planning. The role is to provide a bridge between the Deputy Directors and their teams and customer base, ensuring grip across their various portfolios.

You will also lead on bespoke pieces of work which will be varied in scope and scale, from keeping your finger on the pulse of wider project management processes taking place across the Directorate to providing secretariat support for board processes.

The Directorate is agile in response to Ministerial priorities and geopolitical events, so there will be opportunities to contribute to other areas of directorate work during your time with us, including on short-term projects and support our active corporate agenda.

Key responsibilities include:
Diary Management: you will work closely with Deputy Directors to coordinate meetings and plan future engagement. You will help deliver strategic objectives, prioritise meetings, identify clashes and offer solutions.

Stakeholder Engagement: you will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders such as academics, government officials, businesses and foreign dignitaries.

Logistics: you will ensure the Deputy Directors are prepared for meetings, managing logistics and ensuring timely distribution of agendas, papers and actions. You will organise suitable rooms and hospitality for VIPs, making them fell welcomed and enabling positive outcomes. You will help arrange travel for the Director and Deputy Directors, collaborating with colleagues abroad on travel programmes.

Information Management: you will accurately process expense claims and keep detailed records for Deputy Directors.

Staff Engagement: you will have the opportunity to lead or contribute to various initiatives, such as Away Days, All-Staff meetings, regular newsletters, and much more.

Corporate Support: you will assist the business support team with other essential corporate functions, such as coordinating events and processing invoices for example.
