Job Description

Field-Based Dispute Resolution Officer
Location: Birmingham and surrounding areas
Salary: £28,000 per year + Company Car
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (flexibility required for occasional twilight visits)

About the Role

We're seeking a Field-Based Dispute Resolution Officer to join a leading waste management service. This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of resolving customer concerns, negotiating contract terms, and fostering strong client relationships.


In this role, you will:

  • Build Relationships: Visit customers in-person to address complaints and queries that require a face-to-face approach, ensuring ongoing positive partnerships.
  • Problem Solve: Take a calm, level-headed approach to negotiate and resolve disputes on the spot while protecting the company's commercial interests.
  • Negotiate Terms: Work collaboratively with customers to renegotiate rates and other contract terms, ensuring continuity of business.
  • Manage Your Time: Plan your own diary, prioritise tasks, and use a CRM system to maintain an organised and efficient workflow.
  • Work Flexibly: Occasionally meet customers outside standard hours to accommodate their availability.

What We're Looking For


We're looking for someone with:

  • Proven Experience: At least 2 years in customer relations, complaint resolution, and business negotiation.
  • Exceptional Skills: Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • IT Proficiency: Experience with CRM systems and general IT skills to manage your workload effectively.
  • Local Knowledge: A good geographical understanding of Birmingham and nearby areas.
  • A clean UK driving license is essential
