Children's Residential Support Worker

Temporary contract

Starting from £13.50 an hour (+ holiday pay on top)

12 hour shifts. Part time and full time hours available.

Permanent opportunities due to expansion plans including opportunities to progress in your career i.e. Senior Support Worker and Team Leader roles.

An exciting opportunity has come up for experienced Children's Residential Support Workers to work in a large reputable client in the Cardiff area in their residential children's homes.

If you have experience working with children in a residential care setting and are looking for flexible work around your permanent commitments or a new permanent opportunity then this could be the job for you!

You will be working as part of a staff team to deliver quality care and support to vulnerable children and young people with emotional and behavioural issues. You will be a naturally caring, patient and nurturing person with a passion for supporting children achieve the best in life!

You will need to be a driver with access to your own vehicle to be considered for this role due to the nature of the support required.

To be considered for this role, you will need -

  • At least 12 months experience working in a children's residential setting
  • To be a driver with access to you own vehicle
  • Have a strong desire to support children and young people
  • Have excellent observational skills, and the ability to problem solve and think creatively to enable our young people to reimagine their potential.
  • Be patient, caring, compassionate with a young person-centred nature
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage emotionally challenging situations with emotional intelligence and resilience, and to have the capacity to react calmly in stressful situations.
  • Be a team player and able to take direction and show initiative.
