Job Title: Career Work Coach
Salary: £25,081 - £27,453 per annum
Hours: 37 hours/week (08:30-16:30 Mon-Thu; 08:30-16:00 Fri)
Location: Based in Newcastle with travel to various sites and community-based work
Are you passionate about making a real difference? Brook Street Social Care is looking to recruit an inspiring Career Work Coach to join a leading local charity in this impactful role.
Due to the nature of this role, a valid driving license and access to your own vehicle are essential for this role. You will support adults aged 18 to 84 with learning disabilities, guiding them towards employment, self-employment, and volunteering opportunities. Through skills development, training, volunteering, and work placements, you will help unlock their potential, create real job outcomes, and make a lasting impact in their lives.

Role esponsibilities:
- Collaborate with local authorities, Job Centre Plus, NHS, schools, colleges, and employers to secure job placements and volunteering opportunities.
- Support clients through job search, application, and interview stages.
- Offer in-work support and advice on benefits (Universal Credit, Access to Work).
- Mentor clients in volunteering roles and assist employers in providing pre-employment and retention support.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Training
- Career experience and/or qualification in a relevant discipline (Advice and Guidance, Information, Advice & Guidance, Social Care, Teaching (secondary or FE).
- English and Maths Level 4+/5
- Disability-specialist training e.g. positive behaviour support, person-centered practice, autism awareness, Makaton, BSL
Desired Qualifications & Training
- Recent Safeguarding Adults training
Essential Experience and Skills
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults in employment, volunteering and/or self-employment
- Experience working with partnerships within the community e.g. Voluntary Sector, Education, Employers, Job Centre Plus.
- Confident IT skills i.e. Windows, Microsoft 365 (email, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel, Yammer, Teams) and Adobe, web Chat Forums, Video Conference Calling (Facetime, Zoom, and MS Teams), social media (Facebook and Instagram)
