Accounting & Financial Reporting Assistant

Salary: £31,000 - £33,000
Location: Chelmsford

Join one of the top 10 accountancy firms in Britain and take the next step in your career as an Accounting & Financial Reporting Assistant! We're looking for a detail-oriented and client-focused professional to join our growing Consulting team.

About the Role

Our Consulting team delivers a range of financial and business support solutions, helping clients navigate complex challenges and achieve their strategic goals. As an Accounting & Financial Reporting Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting clients with financial reporting, VAT returns, and management accounts preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare management accounts under supervision, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the preparation of VAT returns.
  • Maintain well-documented files with sufficient evidence for review.
  • Provide excellent client service, ensuring high-quality work at all times.
  • Identify inaccuracies in client work and take action to correct them.
  • Meet deadlines and proactively seek advice when needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • AAT Level 3 or above or ACCA part-qualified.
  • Previous experience working in an accountancy practice is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (A-C), including a B in Maths and English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
