Location: Royal Courts of Justice, Strand Central London
Contract Type: Temporary (1 Month)
Start Date: 7th of April 2024
End Date: 2nd of May 2024
Salary: £14.75 per hour (with benefits including pension scheme and holiday pay)
Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the management of a backlog of court hearings for the London and South East regions.
  • Process court orders and liaise with internal and external parties involved in the court process.
  • Assist in court clerking duties during hearings, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient processes.
  • Scan, transfer, and file documents, maintaining accuracy and consistency in records.
  • Upload documents to electronic systems and databases in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with relevant parties to schedule hearings, serve court documents, execute warrants, and collect fines and fees, including processing payments via chip and pin.
  • This is a strictly office-based role; no remote working is available.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage data effectively.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • A positive attitude and a professional approach to working in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly via telephone, with the ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders in a court setting
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

Additional Information:

  • A DBS check will be required prior to the start of the role. We will assist with processing this.
  • Candidates will be subject to security checks (which take 2-3 weeks) before their start date. All start dates are dependent on the completion of these checks.

If you have a strong administrative background, excellent organisational and data entry skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in supporting the judicial process during a busy and impactful project.
