Hybrid 60% Office 40% WFH
Hourly rate: £13.85
Working Days/Hours: 37 hrs per week 9am-5pm
Brook Street in partnership with the Home Office has a fantastic opportunity to join their team as a Decision Maker.
Experience Needed/desired:
- Be able to use basic Microsoft packages including word, excel and outlook.
- Adapt to changing priorities and ability to work at pace
- Ability to work independently and closely with others to achieve a shared goal/targets
- Good communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written)
- Professional and customer-focused, ability to understand the needs of vulnerable customers
List the duties/ responsibilities:
As an AO Decision Maker within AHRO the individual is required to undertake case preparation and decision-making activity in relation to fee waiver applications. This will involve assessing applications in line with the published fee waiver guidance.
- Provide administrative support by undertaking a range of administrative tasks such as file movement and tracking, logging correspondence, issuing letters and dealing with customer enquiries.
- Responsibility for updating Home Office databases accurately.
- Safeguarding personal data and complying with all GDPR requirements.
- Request database checks as required within set timescales
- Scanning and digitising of customer supporting evidence
- Manage inboxes and dealing with correspondence received electronically or by post. Update relevant databases / files.
- Making and demonstrating well-judged decisions.
- To collate, assess and respond to information given by customers.
- Prepare and make case files decision ready for casework, or for appeals or removal processes.
- Telephone Call handling/Booking appointments.
- Working with casework teams across the country to arrange appointments for customers.
- Pre-assessment/enrichment activity.
- Responsible for effective personal delivery.
- Deliver against targets and provide excellent customer service.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships to collaboratively deliver what is required.
- Deliver a professional service to Home Office standards and support colleagues.
- Have a flexible approach and be receptive to organisational change.
Additional duties within the scope of the grade may vary dependant on business needs and the specific team where the candidate is placed.
Training:
2-week training period, consisting of online training course & mentoring. Please note these 2 weeks will need be worked 100% office based.
Please note that no annual leave will be permitted during the 2 weeks of training.
Clearance level (to be applied for by Brook Street upon a successful application):
Basic DBS + CTC (Counter Terrorism Clearance)
Role specific requirements:
You must hold a valid passport and must have lived in the UK for longer than 5 years. Please note that period of 6 months or longer spent outside of the UK in the last 5 years will unfortunately not be accepted. This role requires security clearance that will be processed for you, if successful.
