Our client HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is an agency of the Ministry of Justice. HMCTS provides administrative support for the legal system across England and Wales, ensuring justice works for everyone.

Position: Admin Officer
Location: Peterborough - Fully Office-Based
Salary: £11.59 per hour
Working Hours: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (37 hours per week)

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work within the Public Sector? Our client at HMCTS Peterborough Magistrates Court is seeking an Admin Officer to join their Magistrate Recruitment team on a Full-Time Temporary basis. This is an essential role that supports the smooth operation of the court's day-to-day activities. While the position is temporary, there is a strong likelihood of an extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the Magistrate application portal, ensuring all tasks are completed correctly and no issues are flagged.
  • Progress successful applicants to the next stage of the process.
  • Input data accurately into the system.
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls.
  • Create and update records.
  • Manage email correspondence.
  • Perform general administrative duties.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience managing an inbox.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent overall computer skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel.
  • Comfortable with remote training via Teams and working in the office while using Teams to liaise with colleagues at different court locations.
