Northamptonshire Police
There are 42 other Police forces, but none has more heart. Northamptonshire Police punches above its weight, it is fast and fluid, dedicated and creative and more than anything it has stamina. It is a rural force tackling metropolitan issues in an ever complex environment.
Northamptonshire is a beautiful rural county, and a great place to live and work. It has some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK and is home to many stately homes, renowned for its many charming villages coupled with urban towns.
Northamptonshire provides some of the most attractive and affordable housing in the commuter belt. It also benefits from excellent transport links across the Midlands, with trains from most stations taking you direct to London or Birmingham in an hour.
It is also home to a wide range of high performing schools. Many of the county’s schools and childcare providers have been rated as ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED.
So why here and why now?
Northamptonshire Police has embarked on a huge change programme, FP25, a 5 year plan for Northants Police to drive better performance for the benefit of the public of Northamptonshire.
For the right candidate, joining us presents an exciting challenge to drive better performance and join a team already delivering. We have invested significantly in technology, embedded agile working and continue to seek new ways of using technology to allow officers and staff to do their jobs effectively.
As a Force, we are a great and safe place to work. We are, each and every one of us, first and foremost principled leaders. We define confidence, humanity and humility, recognising these things are not exclusive, rather they are co-dependent.
We understand that no individual is more important than another, rather we have different responsibilities. It is recognised that our most dangerous threat to our policing mission is to put personal pride above succeeding as a team. Those who fail to embrace this will not succeed here.
We want people who have a genuine passion about improving levels of trust and confidence that our communities have in us to protect them, as well as providing a consistently good service to those who turn to us for help.
21st century policing is not just about crime and anti-social behaviour. It also involves protecting the vulnerable, a key priority for us.
Flexibility is a strength and it is our strength too as individuals.
All of these factors give us character; when people look to us they see grip and grit, compassion and good humour, and the courage to speak truth to power in the execution of our duty.
